SMS messaging consent
Last updated: April 30, 2026
Plain‑English summary
Synaxis sends SMS messages only to people who have explicitly opted in. Messages are operational — weekly meal-planning check-ins, shopping confirmations, and daily "tonight's meal" reminders from Kit, our household AI assistant. No marketing. No promotions. You can reply STOP at any time to cancel, or HELP for assistance. Standard message and data rates may apply.
This page describes how Synaxis, LLC ("Synaxis," "we," "us," or "our") collects consent to send SMS messages to subscribers who have chosen to use Kit, our AI-powered meal-planning assistant. Subscribers opt in through a public web form at synaxis.ai/kit-signup and confirm by texting YES to our toll-free number from their own mobile phone.
Synaxis is a Georgia (USA) limited liability company.
What messages Kit sends
Kit sends a small, predictable set of operational messages. Message content is limited to meal planning for the household that enrolled the member:
- Weekly preference check (Tuesday): a short message asking what the subscriber wants to eat that week. Example: "Hi from Kit — anything you're in the mood for this week, or anything you don't want? Reply by Thursday."
- Shopping list confirmation (Friday): a brief summary of the shopping list generated from household preferences. Example: "Shopping list is ready — 12 items, mostly produce. Sending for the Saturday run."
- Tonight's meal reminder (daily, around 4pm local time): the planned dinner and a recipe link. Example: "Tonight: roast chicken with lemon and olives. Recipe: synaxis.ai/k/abc123."
- Opt-in welcome: a one-time confirmation sent immediately after a subscriber opts in.
Every message includes language indicating how to stop (reply STOP) and get help (reply HELP).
How consent is collected
Subscribers opt in through a public web form. No SMS messages are sent until the subscriber has both completed the form and confirmed via text from their own mobile phone. The full flow:
- The prospective subscriber visits synaxis.ai/kit-signup — a publicly accessible page that describes Kit's messages, frequency, message and data rates language, and STOP/HELP language. They enter their first name, email address, and mobile phone number, and actively check an unchecked consent checkbox. The checkbox is not pre-selected; the subscriber has to choose it.
- The web form posts to
synaxis.ai/api/kit/sms-signup, which records the consent artifact: the subscriber's name, email, normalized phone number, IP address, browser user-agent, the version of the consent text shown, and the exact ISO timestamp of submission. Records are kept for the life of the subscription. - Kit emails the subscriber a confirmation at the address they supplied. The email asks the subscriber to text YES to 1-844-752-0498 from their own mobile phone. This second step ensures the phone number actually belongs to the person who consented on the web form — an auditable, timestamped inbound text from the subscriber's own device.
- Only after Kit receives that inbound YES does it send the one-time opt-in welcome SMS and begin the weekly cadence.
- If the subscriber does not text YES within seven days, their phone number is removed from Kit and no SMS messages are sent.
This is double opt-in: explicit web-form consent plus a confirming inbound SMS keyword. Consent records (web-form artifact timestamp, originating IP, browser user-agent, consent-text version, the inbound YES text timestamp, and the welcome-SMS delivery confirmation) are logged and retained for the life of the subscription.
Consent is captured on the form itself and is not embedded in our terms of service or privacy policy. The full consent language shown next to the checkbox at moment of opt-in: "I agree to receive SMS messages from Synaxis for Kit meal-planning operations: weekly preference checks (Tuesday), shopping list confirmations (Friday), daily 'tonight's meal' reminders (around 4pm), and a one-time opt-in welcome. I understand this is approximately 9–12 messages per week. Message and data rates may apply. I can reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time, or HELP for assistance."
Message frequency
Subscribers can expect approximately 9–12 messages per week per household member: one weekly preference check, one shopping confirmation, and up to seven daily "tonight's meal" reminders. Kit does not send promotional, marketing, or third-party content.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any Kit SMS to opt out. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages after that. You can also opt out by emailing kit@synaxis.ai.
Reply HELP to any Kit SMS to receive a short message describing Kit and how to reach a human at Synaxis.
Carrier rates
Message and data rates may apply. Synaxis does not charge for SMS; your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan.
Privacy
SMS phone numbers collected for Kit are used only to send the messages described on this page. Numbers are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. For full details on how we handle personal information, see the Synaxis Privacy Policy.
